Fountain Pens

Fountain pens hark back to a time when people wrote letters that went though the US Mail. With the advent of the ballpoint pen, these fine instruments fell out of favor. Ballpoint pens were easy to use, generally didn’t leak and were somewhat less “fussy” than fountain pens. In recent years, fountain pens have been regaining their popularity. Fountain pens now sell for more than $200,000. No other writing instrument is a personal as a fountain pen. I made my first fountain pen in 2005.  Since then I have added several more to my collection and use one every day as my primary writing instrument.  None of them have leaked, not even once. If you enjoy writing letters or writing in a journal, you may wish to consider a fountain pen as your primary writing instrument. Please refer to the Pen Care page for helpful hints on breaking in and maintaining for your fountain pen.  All of my fountain pens are supplied with one  cartridge and a converter so you can use bottled ink.

All the fountain pens I make come with what I believe is the finest steel nib available, the Heritage semi-flex (SF) nib in a medium width.  For no additional charge I can replace the Heritage SF medium nib with a Heritage SF fine nib.  I also have 18K gold nibs in both medium and fine available.  These 18K gold nibs are top quality and a pleasure to use.  Please go here to learn about these options.
